History
Masjid Ibrahim was founded in 2001 in southwest Austin, an area where no masjid existed previously. Since its inception, the number of worshippers continues to grow, especially at Jumua’ah and Isha prayers. This is in part due to the proximity of several large employers like Intel, Free-scale Semiconductor and AMD.Currently, it is the only center where all the Muslims gather in the South of Austin. We are a Federal non-profit 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization (Tax ID: 74-2967063).

Donate GenerouslyAllaah says in Sura Al-Baqara, verse 261:
The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allaah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn), it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allaah gives manifold increase to whom HE wills. And Allaah is All-Sufficient for His Creatures' needs, All-Knower." Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: If anyone gives as Sadaqa the equivalent of a date from that (earning) earned honestly, for Allah accepts that which is lawful, the Lord would accept it with His Right Hand, and even if it is a date, it would foster in the Hand of the lord, as one of you fosters his colt, till it becomes bigger than a mountain. [Saheeh Muslim, Kitaab al-Zakaat]Guarantee your real estate in Jannah. Guarantee your rewards for this dunya and hereafter. Your donation is tax deductable. |
Guidelines for Charity
Important and humble note for the donors: Building masjid is a noble cause without any doubt. It is the sunnah of the Prophets and Messengers. To achieve this noble goal, we have to make sure the means we adopt are also noble, otherwise we will not be achieve the noble goal. Below are some guidelines from the book of Allaah and the Prophet's sunnah that we would like to bring to the attention of our noble donors, may Allaah bless them all with goodness in this life and hereafter. a) Donation must be made with sincere intention only for the Sake of Allah b) Donation must be from halal income and wealth. The owners of stores selling alcoholic drinks, pork, pornographic materials are urged not to bring their money to the masjid. Similarly, those work in bank and riba-based institutions (i.e. so-called Islamic Banks) are requested not to bring their contribution to the Masjid. Rather what we intend from these individuals is to repent to Allaah and come back to the correct path. c) Donation that is full of sincerity and halal is full of blessings even the amount is small. d) Zakat-al-Maal can not be used to build masjid, school etc... Masjid Ibrahim has a separate fund for zakat-al-maal and we request our noble donors to direct their zakat-al-maal for the fund that Allaah has designated the zakat for. e) Credit cards can't be used to donate for the masjid. Credit card is basically Riba Al-Jahiliyyah that the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) abolished. Hence donors are requested not to take loan from these companies to donate. Any loan that is taken from a credit card company is nothing but Riba, the horrible sin that Allaah (Ta'aalaa) forbade the Muslims to participate in. How can we build Masjid Ibrahim with money from Riba. [Note: in the past Masjid Ibrahim used to accept credit card, but when the administration realized that it is haram, the administration repented from this and we ask Allaah to forgive us and those who took this wrong decision in the past. So, any donation receipt, pledge form or past document of Masjid Ibrahim that contains credit card information should be shredded and should not be used as evidence of the permissibility of using credit card] f) When approaching other Muslims for donation, please make sure you follow and instruct them with these guidelines for the sake of Allaah. We ask Allaah to bless our work and make our goals noble to achieve the noble goal - that is to build Masjid Ibrahim only for the sake of Allaah upon the way of our beloved Prophet Mohammad (Sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam)! |
